Meet Kathrin
Kathrin Hohenstern develops and delivers interactive, evidence-based trainings for behavioral health professionals. With over 23 years of experience providing therapy for mental health and substance use disorders, she has spent 16 years working with veterans—13 years at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System in residential and outpatient settings, and three years with VISN 9's suicide prevention telehealth program.
Kathrin has provided training for counselors in evidence‑based safety planning and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitation, as well as developed and delivered interactive trainings such as Trauma and Beyond, Culturally Informed Care for Veterans, Advanced Application of EBPs, DBT for SUD, Trauma‑Informed Care, and Co‑Occurring Disorders.
Kathrin has a Bachelor's of Art in Psychology from Minnesota State University Moorhead, Master of Social Work from University of Kansas, and a PhD in Social Work (disaster, crisis, and intervention specialization) from Walden University.
