Meet Gizelle
Since joining the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in 2022, Gizelle Alvarez has served as the primary data manager, driving projects that enhance organizational and client effectiveness. Along with this crucial role, she facilitates virtual prevention trainings for professionals working with young people nationwide. Gizelle brings specialized expertise in addressing prevention needs within rural communities both locally and globally. Her professional experience includes roles with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a health communications fellow, collaborating with global partners to disseminate public health information; clinical research coordinator for COVID-19 vaccine trials at the University of Illinois at Chicago; research associate at the Institute for Health Research and Policy, partnering with community members and their stakeholders to improve health outcomes of children; and EMT providing critical care at large-scale events. Gizelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
